Navigating Difficult Times

Well, the time has finally come for me to pack my things and get ready to vacate the dorm apartment tomorrow. It has been my home for almost two years now. It feels kind of weird, though I do believe that I am more than ready given the Israeli policies regarding the never-ending injections that they want their people to undergo proving that these things are at the least unhelpful, at the worse damaging to those who take them. They also have a mask mandate here mainly for being inside places, a Green card to make it hard to do anything unless one is injected, etc. Frankly, I am happy to be leaving to go to a country where it is much less of an issue.

I made my original plans to go to the Dominican Republic to do retreats and see individual clients at the Villa Serena Hotel — which was something that I was very much looking forward to doing. However, given the remote area in which it is located and the devastation of the travel trade along with the expense of living there Bill, the owner let me know that he didn’t believe that the situation was going to work out. I have to admit that at first, I was very upset to read these words in his email from 3 days before my taking leave. However, this is how life is these days. Many people really have no idea how to make things work when our lives have been turned so upside down by policies that we have no control over.

On the other hand, I am happy that I will not have to take a 3-hour ride to the hotel after all the travel that I will have already done. And, knowing that I can go someplace a lot closer to the airport at much less cost to me is also better overall. I will do what I can to bring in business and go from there. It is all one can do — day-by-day. Because, what I do know is that I am not willing to live in the US given all the divisiveness, false narratives, false data, etc. At least here in Isreal, the officials did an excellent job with being truthful with their data even if they did not particularly like the outcome. So we have the facts and the facts say that those in my age group are actually much better off not being injected! Who knew?

So, I will do what I need to do to keep my autonomy and live in countries that are open to people living as people — not as test animals. There are only 6 of them today if you could believe it — but at least there are 6 of them.

Learning: One has to be endlessly flexible with how one leads life because we never know what will be asked of us and if we are willing to comply. We never know what difficulties can arise because of policies that we have no control over. However, the one thing that we do have is the manner in which we choose to respond to such things. Being physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually healthy is worth whatever price it takes.
