Are You Focusing on What Matters to Have An Excellent New Year?

Today is New Year’s Eve. A time to give some serious thought to what we have achieved during the year, and what we would like to achieve for the upcoming year.

So, I am rather miffed by the many people who post comments about all the suffering they have had to endure, all the lousy experiences they had, etc.

I get it, many people are feeling screwed over by much of what has been going on in the world over the past 2 years. However, I have a question to ask you about that?

How does obsessing about all the wrongs done, help one to create a better life situation…especially on social media?

I will tell you that the only way that dealing with the negativity in the past is going to help, is by dealing with why you had the feelings associated, receiving your positive learnings (that perhaps you overreacted to something, felt that it was important to be ‘right’ or to piss someone off because they pissed you off first, etc. — and you got to pay the emotional the price for all of them in the end. Maybe it wasn’t worth any of those reactions.

Maybe it would have been better to just realize that the great majority of people who are going to say or do things that are negative, are people who are having a hard time, people you may not know at all (especially if on social media), and people that you don’t respect, so needn’t care about their reactions in the first place.

My strong suggestion is to take a whole different perspective on the life lived and that is to focus on those things that WORKED WELL in your life — and I don’t care if it was just a tiny slice of your life — because there is ALWAYS something to be learned that can then be applied to make your life more contented, and perhaps even more fulfilling.

For myself, I made the decision to stay out of the US not desiring to live in a country that is doing its best to destroy itself on so many levels and in so many ways it would take a year to write them all out. I made that decision originally in 2009 when I took my first trip to Isreal, but the timing was not right at that time for many reasons.

So, 12 years later I am in a better situation to allow this to be my reality and I am just going with the flow.

I also made the decision to live in a place that was calming to my soul within walking distance to the ocean, surrounded by heart-centered loving people who know how to enjoy the most simple of aspects of life amongst themselves and those they love.

For this year, my main goal is to find a way to stay here in this beautiful place with all these beautiful people so that I can keep my bodily and emotional authority over myself. This is so that I can be of the best service to myself first and then to those who employ me to help them sort out their lives. Because I have to be in an emotional and physically healthy place to be ‘present’ for my clients, and my family and, my friends to have a happy and fulfilling life.

So, what are you willing to give up, do differently, or add on that will allow you to have the best year of your life regardless of the insanity that much of the rest of the world is willing to allow interfere with their health and wellbeing?

Do indeed post your ideas below because maybe your ideas will allow others to learn from you and do likewise.

PLEASE NOTE: these are to be helpful, positive suggestions and the more outside the box from all the boring overstated memes on other posts the better — we are looking for truly inspirational and new ideas here — helping others iterate their lives in a healthier manner.
